Employers losing Employment Tribunals could face Fines

From 6th April 2014 an employer who loses an Empoyment Tribunal could be forced to pay a fine to the Secretary of State under section 12A of the Employment Tribunals Act 1996.

Tribunals will have this option where they determine the employer breached the worker’s rights involved in the claim; and there are one or more ‘aggravating features’.
